Before this application, we had blinked a single led. In this application, together with the Mblock program, we will make more than one led blinking, in other words, black lightning. The list of materials that our program will need in our led circuit before proceeding to the codes:
1-Arduino Uno
2-BreadBoard
3-7 LEDs
4- 7 pieces of 220Ω Resistor
5-Jumper Cables
We need supplies.
We add a 220 ohm resistor to the long leg of the LEDs we add
to our breadboard. We connect one leg of the resistor with a jumper cable,
starting from the digital pin 2 of our ardunio uno material, to the 8th pin. We
connect the short leg of the LED to the GND (negative) terminal of the Ardunio
Uno with a jumper cable. However, since there are 3 GND terminals on our
arduino uno board, we connect the jumper cables that we connect to the short
leg of the leds to the + or - terminals at the bottom of our breadboard. The
cables must be aligned, we can connect the cables horizontally in the + or -
section. After collecting our cables in this region, we can connect them to the
GND terminal with a single cable. The circuit diagram is given below.
I will blink the leds with a for loop. Without the for loop,
we would have to turn the leds on and off one by one. This would cause our code
to be longer. First of all, we add our Arduino program code from the Robots
section. Since our LEDs will blink continuously, we add the forever code from
the Control menu. We create a data called counter (which will hold our digital
pin) from the data&blocks menu. What we call the counter 2 is our digital pin number
2. For example, if you start from pin 5, you should say the counter is 5. Since
we added 7 LEDs, we repeat it 7 times. We add our Counter data into the code to
make the numeric pin high. Our starting counter was 2. In other words, it will
make pin 2 high and light the led. And after increasing the counter data by 1
and waiting for 1 second, it will make the other digital pin high. By repeating
these operations 7 times, our 7th led will light up. After exiting this loop,
we say that the counter is 8. So our 7th led is connected to 8th digital pin.
We create a loop that will repeat 7 times again. This time, we start by making
our 8th digital pin low, that is, by turning off our 7th led. Then we turn off
the previous led by decreasing the counter data by one. This process continues
7 times until our 1st led goes out.
In order for us to run these codes, after connecting our
arduino board and circuit to the computer with a usb cable, we first select the
Serial port from the Connect menu, let's choose the port to which our arduino
board is connected from there. From the boards menu, choose Arduino Uno (or
choose which board you are using) After selecting it, choose the Arduino mode
from the Edit menu. And by pressing the Upload to Arduino button, we send the
codes we wrote to our Arduino board and upload them. Thus, our program becomes
ready to run.
